I'm not much of a message board type person, but I could use some input from someone who has had a positive experience in band. My daughter Tammi is 12, in the 6th grade band (clarinet), and LOVES it. The band teacher does not have the greatest attitude about having a child with autism in "her" band and is struggling with making accommodations for Tammi. Cameron, could you tell me, please, what qualities your school band director had that helped make your experience so positive? I can't change the attitude of Tammi's band director, but I'd like to be able to show her what other band directors have done to make band a life-changing experience for persons with autism. Thank you!!</p>
